Alice Springs Airport (ASP)
Facilities and Services

(Alice Springs, Northern Territory - NT, Australia)

Business and leisure travellers alike will all agree that Alice Springs Airport (ASP) contains an adequate selection of facilities. Whilst there may not be dozens of shops and restaurants, this is a small airport and caters well for its passenger throughput.

Newsagents are on hand, should you be in need of a little inflight reading material. If you have misplaced an item in the Terminal, then your first port of call should be the Alice Springs Airport Management Centre, where staff can assist you during standard business hours. For missing luggage or lost items onboard the plane, you will need to contact the relevant airline directly.

Shops, Cafés and Restaurants

If you are looking to pass the time while you wait for your plane to take off, then there are a handful of shopping districts to hand. Runway News is the place to come for newspapers, magazines and books. Here you will also be able to purchase basic gifts, travel accessories and some pharmaceuticals. At the Gem Cave Airport store, opals and jewellery are the order of the day, while in Australian Way are some good quality Aussie souvenirs.

For a light snack, Cafe Alice offers hot and cold food with a choice of beverages. If you are a smoker, then you may like to make full use of the outdoor patio area here. For a pint, glass of wine or a soft drink, the Todd River Ale House is a good place to find a quiet corner, where you can relax.

Currency Exchange, Communications and Banking Facilities

Currency exchange is managed by Australian Way, with the latest rates of exchange being used to convert your currency (to and from Australian dollars). A post box is situated outside of the main restaurant area, with the mail being collected on a daily basis. Several change machines can also be found at various locations around the complex.

Disabled Facilities

Alice Springs Airport has worked to make the terminal fully physically-accessible for passengers with mobility problems and other disabilities. If you are concerned about your needs being met, or you have any special requirements, you should phone the airport or your airline to discuss - at least two days before you arrive.

Other Facilities

Other facilities at ASP include basic first aid services, a photograph booth machine, a lost property desk, designated outdoor smoking areas and fast Internet access close to the restaurant. There are also plenty of public telephones operated by both coins and phone cards, public bathrooms and showers, baby changing rooms, drinking water fountains and numerous luggage trolleys.
